People with complex care needs sometimes need help with tracheostomies—holes made at the front of the neck in the windpipe.

 

Usually, this is done if a person has problems with breathing, blockages, or even to assist with fluid removal. People with tracheostomies may use different tubes depending on the severity of their condition.
