People may need assistance when it comes to receiving the nutrients and  fluids they need to live. 

PEG stands for: • Percutaneous • Endoscopic • Gastrostomy

It involves placing a tube that connects to the stomach, which is then used  to feed nutrients and fluid into the person’s body. Throughout this module,  learners will be exposed to the different types of tubes, as well as the varying  feeds that can be used depending on a person’s needs.

This module also looks at best practice and highlights the importance of  using these when supporting someone who needs enteral feeding. Learners  will also recognise the importance of showing a duty of care and following  their legal obligations.
